The finance team is involved in all financial transactions between Duke and Duke Kunshan University (DKU) following the Duke University policies and procedures. Here are some of their financial responsibilities:
- Prepare financial agreements and invoices between Duke and DKU for programs, services and secondments.
- Prepare teaching agreements and pay faculty buy-outs and teaching replacements to Duke schools and departments for their faculty teaching at DKU.
- Process supplements for faculty and staff assigned to teach or work at DKU.
- Prepare Cost of Attendance for DKU Programs that spend a semester or more at Duke.
- Work with the Bursar’s Office on the billing of qualified DKU graduate and professional students.
- Manage the tax equalization process for Duke secondees.
- Reimburse visitors who are attending conferences, meetings or interviews at Duke on behalf of DKU.
- Manage dedicated cost objects reserved for DKU.
- Prepare annual operating budget for Duke expenditures related to DKU.
- Process calendar year-end for DKU and fiscal year-end for Duke and DKU.
